چکیده

Although forbidden band effect in perfectly periodic phononic crystals (PC) is very attractive, random disordered (i.e. detuning) phenomenon inevitable engineering processing, thus exploring the of detuning on wave characteristics PC becomes a necessity. In this study, fundamental governing equations and boundary conditions are derived from principle virtual work. Wave localization factor one-dimensional (1D) detuned nano-PC investigated based transfer matrix method, with flexoelectric duly accounted for. Subsequently, BaTiO3−SrTiO3 taken for illustration, properties 1D elastic waves harmonic states systematically characterized. It demonstrated that can characterize energy structure perfectly. Flexoelectric tends to widen width increasing detuning, linearly related bandwidth. The more sensitive coefficient than thickness detuning. research results provide useful theoretical guidance designing high-frequency nanoscaled devices function filtering gap nano-PC.

Topological Phononic Crystals with One-Way Elastic Edge Waves.

We report a new type of phononic crystals with topologically nontrivial band gaps for both longitudinal and transverse polarizations, resulting in protected one-way elastic edge waves. In our design, gyroscopic inertial effects are used to break the time-reversal symmetry and realize the phononic analogue of the electronic quantum (anomalous) Hall effect. We investigate the response of both hex...

Experimental evidence of rotational elastic waves in granular phononic crystals.

A generalized theory of elasticity, taking into account the rotational degrees of freedom of point bodies constituting a continuum, was proposed at the beginning of the twentieth century by the Cosserat brothers. We report the experimental observation of coupled rotational-translational modes in a noncohesive granular phononic crystal. While absent in the classical theory of elasticity, these e...

Elastic wave propagation along waveguides in three-dimensional phononic crystals

We investigate theoretically using the finite difference time domain method acoustic wave propagation along waveguides in three-dimensional phononic crystals constituted of lead spherical inclusions on a face-centered cubic lattice embedded in an epoxy matrix. The transmission spectra of the perfect phononic crystal for transverse and longitudinal acoustic waves are shown to depend strongly on ...

Watching surface waves in phononic crystals.

In this paper, we review results obtained by ultrafast imaging of gigahertz surface acoustic waves in surface phononic crystals with one- and two-dimensional periodicities. By use of quasi-point-source optical excitation, we show how, from a series of images that form a movie of the travelling waves, the dispersion relation of the acoustic modes, their corresponding mode patterns and the positi...

Surface waves in granular phononic crystals.

The existence of surface elastic waves at a mechanically free surface of granular phononic crystals is studied. The granular phononic crystals are made of spherical particles distributed periodically on a simple cubic lattice. It is assumed that the particles are interacting by means of normal, shear, and bending contact rigidities. First, Rayleigh-type surface acoustic waves, where the displac...
